Research into Posters of Albums

Johnny Cash Poster

This is a poster of one of Johnny Cash's albums. This poster is set out in a country style which is what most of his music is like. They used a acoustic guitar which tells the viewer what sort of genre this will be. also the colour scheme red and black shows the time period these songs are set in. This poster is set out like a wanted poster set in the 60's to show the audience what sort of music and the lifestyle of the artist. There is catusu's in the background which will show the audience what sort of music this is, which is country music. From this poster you can find all about the artist and the music. Also the border tells you what sort of time period this is from.

The Who Poster

The Who's poster is informative because they used a big yellow banner across the bottom to attract the viewer to it which is advertising there album. From this I have found that using yellow shows informative information that will attract the viewer. From the england flag and the england suit, you can tell where the music has come from. The conventions of the yellow banner are that the information will be inportant news. You can tell from this poster what period of time it is set in because of the hair cuts which the band are, which orginates from the 80's. As with the digipak for the who there poster is packed with different items from the era they grown up in.
The Killers Poster
This poster uses the same colour scheme which is usually the same conventions for all of the posters advertising the album. Also on this poster you can find the date in which the album will be released which is also an essential for posters. As with the killers digipak they used a lot of blue which represents that this music will be for male's rather than female's. On this poster you can see the main details which are when the album will be released, what the albums name is and any other bands which may crop up in the music. In this poster the band aren't looking at you rather than something in the distance which could mean that this band are ready to go to the top of there profession.
