Equipment

Before we start to film are main shots for our music video we will need to decide on what equipment we will use and the location that we will shoot in. I decided to do this to make our music video run smoothly for example if we are wondering what equipment we need when filming the filming will have to stop so it would be quicker to find out before we start filming anything. Another part of research that I will do is find out what professional music videos use to film some of their shots for example looking at a music video a finding the method of shooting for them shots. But to start off with I will go through some of the pieces of equipment that we have to use.

The piece of equipment on the left is a tripod which can have a tradtional camera to be locked on to it. This piece of equipment is best used for still shots as the camera can't move, this can also do pan shots well because of the adjustable height and roatation on the top of the stand.

This dolly for a camera is used to give the user a more accurate visual shot of what they will be needing for example you can't use a tripod to get round corners whereas this dolly will help you to get into different locations whilst being handheld.

That’s it for the shooting equipment for our music video but there is still other equipment for the audience, for example having a spot light over a person doing a guitar solo. I think that every piece of equipment that I will look at will be useful in its own way.

Lighting is a key for a performance music video because in a real performance music videos there are spot lights targeting the band for example a sport light over the singer. This light has three lights in one where you can operate how many lights you want from the top of the stand. To assemble this lighting stand you will need the stand which is adjustable so you can have whatever angle you want, and then you will need the light holder and the power lead.

After we assembled the light we decided to show you how bright each light will be for example we started off with no lights then one lights then two lights and so on. We found out that there isn’t much difference from one light to three lights.

This is the controls for the lights.

This is no lights on.

This is one lights on.

This is two lights on.

This is three lights on.
From this experiment you can tell that there isn't much difference from three lights on to one light on. there is one thing which i will want to change and that is try using a darker room to see if there is any othet effect.
